Privacy Policy

This policy explains what SkaiApply, operated by ClearSkai Technologies, collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. SkaiApply is a hiring platform: sharing career information with employers is the product working as intended — this policy is about making sure that sharing is never a surprise.

1. What we collect

• Account data — name, email, and authentication data handled by our sign-in provider (Clerk).
• Profile and résumé data — work history, trades, skills, certifications, licenses, equipment experience, availability, pay expectations, and documents you upload.
• Application data — the jobs you apply to, your answers to screening questions, messages with employers, and application status history.
• Employer data — company details, job postings, team membership, applicant notes, and ratings submitted about hires.
• Usage data — pages viewed, searches run, device and log data, used for security and to improve the product.

2. How we use it

• To run the marketplace: showing your application to the employer you applied to, delivering messages, and sending notifications you can control.
• To power AI features: scoring how well an application fits a job, recommending jobs to candidates, and helping employers draft postings. Prompts are constructed without your contact details, and AI outputs are advisory — they never auto-reject an application.
• To review verification documents you choose to submit.
• To detect fraud, scams, and abuse, and to comply with law.

3. Who sees your data

• Employers you apply to see your profile and application. That is the point of applying.
• Employers searching talent can find your profile only if you opt in to being discoverable. You can turn this off in your profile at any time.
• Public profile pages show what you choose to make public. Verification badges show verified status, never the underlying documents.
• Service providers process data on our behalf: hosting (Vercel), database and file storage (Supabase), authentication (Clerk), AI processing (Anthropic), and email delivery. Each is bound to use the data only to provide the service.
• Connected systems— if an employer publishes a job from SkaiScraper, application data for that job syncs back to that employer’s SkaiScraper account.
• We do not sell your personal information.

4. Verification documents

Documents you submit for verification (certification cards, licenses) are stored privately, are visible only to you and platform reviewers, and are never shown to employers. Only the resulting verified/rejected status is displayed.

5. Retention

We keep your data while your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete or de-identify your personal data within a reasonable period, except records we must keep for legal, security, or dispute-resolution purposes. Employers may retain copies of applications you already sent them, as any recipient of an application would.

6. Your rights and choices

• Edit or delete profile information at any time from your profile page.
• Opt out of talent-search discoverability at any time.
• Control notification emails in your settings.
• Request a copy of your data, or deletion of your account and data, by emailing privacy@skaiapply.com.
• Depending on where you live (for example, California or the EU/UK), you may have additional statutory rights to access, correct, delete, or port your data, and to non-discrimination for exercising them. We honor verified requests regardless of jurisdiction.

7. Cookies

We use cookies that are necessary for sign-in and security, and first-party analytics to understand product usage. We do not run third-party advertising trackers.

8. Security

Data is encrypted in transit, stored with tenant-scoped access controls, and access to production systems is restricted. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects your data we will notify you as required by law.

9. Children

SkaiApply is for adults. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has an account, contact us and we will remove it.

10. Changes

We may update this policy. For material changes we will give notice before they take effect. The effective date above always reflects the current version.
